Vtg Craftsman Surveyer INSTRUMENT Compass Transit ESTATE needs cleaning AS IS

Description

This older surveyer's instrument is offered AS IS.  It is an estate item and has been in storage for years.  It is dirty and will need to be cleaned up.  There are some places on top that may have had black rubber originally, but is now gone or very worn.  There are a few little scratches in the metal where some of the old black was scratched off.  The little glass tube with bubble on the top appears to be fine.  Parts of the underside look a little green so may be made of brass, note close-up of bottom.  Instrument is marked:  MADE IN U.S.A., CRAFTSMAN, REG. TRADE MARK, 3C - 6301.  Item measures 11" long and is approx. 5.5" tall.  Age is unknown.
