In 1929, when transcontinental flight was in it's infancy,
the Spokane Sun-God, piloted by Nick Mamer, with mechanic
Art Walker, became the first airplane to make a non-stop round-
trip transcontinental flight. A section of the fuselage was removed
so fuel hose could be received in flight.
