    Description

    A 1942 W&LE Gurley transit made exclusively for the U.S. military shortly after the outbreak of WWII. The serial number 421424 tells us that it was the 1,424th of this model transit manufactured in 1942. It was very likely used in the Pacific Theatre for laying out air strips, clearing jungle, staking out bases, ect.
    It was well used as evidenced by the case, but in working condition. Both upper and lower motion screws lock and turn,level vials all filled, optics and focus clear with cross hair reticules still intact. The case is also marked US.
    I was pretty happy with myself for still being able to level it up under a minute and capable of reading an angle with my 20x loupe. If you do something long enough...it never leaves you!
